Loch Lomond 2nd April 2022

5 of us – Andy Young, Graham Bailey, Andrew McColl , Jim Clark & myself  met a Millarochy bay car park yesterday. Minimal wind ( glassy at times) we paddled around most of the islands avoiding wild swimmers , Jetskis and fast ribs under intermittent blue skies and enjoying the fabulous conditions. Great to be putting in some miles after the winter hiatus we managed 20 km , and at times achieving 7km/ hr. Nothing eventful happened- we thought Andrew was trying to sink his new boat but was merely washing it out with fresh water. Jim’s elegant new boat (christened The Narwhal due to its pointy end!) was the most stylish vessel on the whole loch! Lunch was on Inchconachan in pre arranged sunshine adjacent to the no-wave zone- so we didn’t.

Great start to the paddling season!

PS No wallabies or former Radio 1 DJs were harmed during the trip
