Equipment Hire

Kayak hire includes buoyancy aid, spray deck, helmet and paddle. You will need a roofrack with suitable cradle/padding to transport the boats, and paddling clothing. For details of the location of the club equipment see LSKC Locations.

The kayaks have a size category in the product name. Note that this relates more to the volume of the boat than cockpit/paddler size, and is a rough guide only. For example a paddler may prefer to paddle a small/medium boat for a day trip when it is not loaded, but may want a larger boat for an overnight trip when there is lots to carry. All the boats have suitable adjustments to cater for a wide range of paddler sizes.

If you are hiring boats for the first time, you are recommended to go to the container some time before your hire, and check that you can open and lock it easily. You can also make sure that the boats and equipment are what you expect and check your roofrack and fittings are suitable for carrying the boats

Day-rates are given below. Some discounts are applied in the booking process, for bookings up to 8 days, for anything over that please contact the committee.
