Incident Management Talk and Air Ambulance Appeal

Lothian Sea Kayak Club had a member fall ill whilst on the water during a leader training session in the summer.

The casualty was taken to hospital by the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance ( SCAA).

We are holding an in-person event (remember them?) on Thursday 30th September 8 pm at the Grange Club EH4 1HQ where those involved tell the tale, and a founder member of the SCAA, Mike Beale, will be there to tell us a bit about how the air ambulance service works.

If you would like to be there contact me (davids3904@yahoo.co.uk) – admission is free – I will reply confirming that you are on the list.

We have a culture in the club of being open about any incidents and telling it like it is, sharing any lessons learned. This group dealt very well with a serious incident, it’s a good tale, a good outcome and some good practical information to be shared.

We also want to raise money- charities have had a real drop in income during the pandemic.

Our in-person attendance is limited to 50 due to covid rules, but we are going to zoom the event- so anyone can take part (the club licence allows a good capacity).

The link is below for the zoom call- and a QR code and link to the just giving page we have set up is there too!

However nothing beats the real thing so do come along in person if you can- and of course please donate to SCAA if your circumstances enable you to.

Please contact David Simpson (davids3904@yahoo.co.uk) if you are attending in person
