Four of us set of from North Queensferry on a perfect summers night with sunshine and a gentle breeze, and headed towards Inverkeithing to explore the industrial landscape.   Michael as organiser and tour guide, pointed out key sites, including the listed Royal Naval Base Mansions in Jamestown built with early reinforced concrete https://www.kirkcaldyin50objects.com/post/william-williamson, the sites of the former ship breaking yard https://britainfromabove.org.uk/image/saw022471 and  paper mill https://canmore.org.uk/site/68088/inverkeithing-caldwells-mill, and the present day stone export pier and scrap metal yard.  The multiple piers and structures, formed striking silhouettes against the early evening sky, and gave us lots to explore.

We then headed over to St David’s harbour (sadly now filled in) before heading back under the rail bridge and back.
