North Berwick 7th of July 2022

Last night four of us (myself, Neli, Shishir and Tim) set of from North Berwick harbour, westwards into the breeze and dazzling sunlight to Lamb then Fidra. A bit of a workout against the F4 winds forecast … them winds, them winds! Easier coming back though and sea state nice enough – refreshing splashes in the face now and again.

Lots of birds in the water and air including puffins, eiders and razorbills. A noisy gull ‘welcome’ was endured briefly at Fidra.

Stunning light on North Berwick itself for our return and the temp of the water was almost Caribean… them splashes!

This evening paddle was twice rescheduled to escape the winds then upped from an A to B grade paddle. A shame and frustrating as the changes in timing and conditions meant a reduced group. Hopefully some normal summery calm will return.
