A group of nine of us headed down to Coldingham for a Grade B paddle last Sunday.
We launched into the surf, which was a fun challenge for those of us with less experience in such windy conditions – force five at times, with stronger gusts!
The group had a great paddle along the coast, exploring the rocky shoreline and caves, then turning back and arriving in the shelter of the harbour at St Abbs for lunch.
After lunch we ventured back into the wind, with a plan of paddling 3k to Eyemouth. However, the conditions had worsened, and we changed the plan after one of us went for an unplanned swim!
It was a really fun day, but we also had the opportunity to practice a real-life rescue situation, which all turned out well in the end.
Thanks Katerina for organising this – we look forward to more days in this beautiful location!
