Three of us met at Longcraig to try our luck on a Fri 13th paddle on a pretty much blue sky day. We launched just after 10am LW and headed up river with the flood ( 2 days short of springs) into a brisk WSW breeze. Coffee stop at Society Point before heading along to Blackness Castle as the wind picked up. Lunch in the lee of the castle watching the wind now piling the sea down past HMS Prince of Wales which prudently had delayed nosing her 17 decks out of dry dock as scheduled into a fully side-on 20mph+ wind. At 65,000 tonnes and 280 meters even a tow from me would not have helped! We had a brisk following breeze for a lively run back though the wind against tide round the Port Edgar breakwater was surprisingly not creating that much movement. A well timed landing back at Loncraig as the wind really strengthened again. Thanks to Mike and David for coming and Andy for organising.
