Last minute re-arrangement took us to glorious West is best Saturday weather at Cuan. Thanks a million to Fiona for organising and leading and to Rob.
The campsite ticked all the boxes for Fri and Sat night with the addition of sunsets and Cuan Sound Springs tiderace views. That made for a lively fast, start to a clockwise circumnavigation of Luing in superb condition and a fun eddy hop and ferry glide at the end of the day.
The Cullipool cafe and museum provided tip top afternoon refreshments whilst we waited for the flood to ease off.

Sunday took in Kerrera* whilst a splinter group headed round the Craignish Islands and skerries to nose around Duntrune Castle in Crinan bay.

Thanks again to Fiona for a great call and to all who came and helped make for a fantastic weekend.

*with an easy launch from Puffin Dive Centre, which set the tone for the leisurely paddle round Kerrera.
First lunch at the island’s cafe did not happen due to a rookie cafe planning/mapping error, but we all had plenty of food to keep us going.
We enjoyed the environment, seeing porpoises ands seals then a spot seaweed foraging before second lunch.
This was by the lighthouse at the north end of the island and gave us plenty of opportunity to see working CalMac ferries!

Then it was an easy paddle into a rising tide back to the launch site.
Kit washed and stowed and home by 7. What a great weekend all round.
