Rough Stuff 3- Seacliff Sat 10th March
Even worse weather than last week, but still 13 determined souls with a brilliant ‘have-a-go’ attitude . Easterly 5 + , smaller swell but stronger wind than 2 weeks ago- – awkward turning boats into wind and the buoy off St Baldred’s was getting a pasting. We played about in the various rough bits around the point and amongst the rocks, sampled the open sea conditions and even visited the harbour. Good group organisation, it was good to see people coping well with blustery and awkward conditions but I suppose the highlight had to be the debrief in the gents bog…we know how to do things in style! One of the suggestions is that we continue this on a monthly basis- it can only get better as the weather improves….. we’ll do that and aim to make it regular and visible on the site. These 7 sessions have involved more than 30 people, have got out in some chunky conditions and folk have really come on a lot. I am so grateful to the experienced paddlers for committing to this and to the participants for their relentless good humour in the face of foul conditions and awful humour . See you all at the AGM!
