Rough Stuff Silverknowes 4th March
Dreich, snell, boggin’weather with clumps of dirty snow littering the foreshore…who on earth would bother coming out. Well 13 of us did, must be the cabin fever…On Richard Young’s advice we went to Silverknowes to get a bit of incoming sea ( Dunbar and N Berwick were too large). The vast expanse of sodden sand and grey sea looked so uninviting compared to last week’s sun and swell, but we’d timed it to get the incoming tide and things soon livened up as the wind strengthened quietly. But actually a great time was had, again we found enough to keep us on our toes-as you can see from the picture- negotiating the anti invasionbarrier at Cramond was not easy, Cat coping here with bounceback! Good bracing practice and a great turn out, including some new faces but experienced hands, all of which shows either naive enthusiasm or a lack of common sense- perhaps boredom with daytime TV was the driving factor….next session next week!
